Four stocks lifted the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.50 per cent on Thursday, June 25, overpowering the loss recorded by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc.
The popular manufacturer lost 98 Kobo at the unlisted securities exchange yesterday to close at N60.00 per unit compared with the preceding session’s N60.98 per unit.
On the flip side, NASD Plc gained N2.33 to sell at N25.72 per share compared with the previous day’s N23.39 per share, Afriland Properties Plc improved by N1.77 to N21.17 per unit from N19.40 per unit, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc appreciated by N1.58 to N30.68 per share from N29.10 per share, and Acorn Petroleum Plc increased by 11 Kobo to settle at N1.28 per unit versus N1.17 per unit.
As a result, the market capitalisation of the bourse jumped by N9.78 billion to quote at N1.946 trillion compared with the N1.937 trillion it ended at midweek, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) chalked up 16.70 points to settle at 3,324.90 points, in contrast to the previous session’s 3,308.20 points.
Yesterday, there was a 83.4 per cent slide in the volume of transactions to 298,142 units from the 1.8 million units achieved in the previous trading day, the value of trades went down by 14.9 per cent to N7.6 million from N8.9 million, and the number of deals slumped by 24.3 per cent to 28 deals from the 37 deals carried out a day earlier.
At the close of transactions, Impresit Bakolori Plc remained the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 536.9 million units for N524.8 million, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units valued at N4.2 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc with 268.5 million units worth N475.9 million.
Okitipupa Plc also closed the day as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 153.7 million units valued at N4.9 billion, trailed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million sold for N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 40.8 million units worth N1.7 billion.
