UPDATED: Another Abia Lawmaker Dumps PDP For Labour Party

The member representing the Bende North State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Nnamdi Ibekwe, has defected to the ruling Labour Party (LP) in Abia State.

Hon. Ibekwe, who had earlier denounced his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) this month, officially joined the Labour Party today during plenary in a letter he addressed to the Speaker, Rt Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa.

He joins Hon. Fyne Ahuama (Osisioma Ngwa South) and Hon. Iheanacho Nwaogu (Osisioma Ngwa North), who earlier defected to the Labour Party from the Young People’s Party (YPP) in 2024. Other People’s Democratic Party (PDP) defectors in the state include Hon. Rolland Chinwendu (Isialangwa South), Hon. Lucky Johnson (Isiukwuato) and Hon. Iheonunaekwu Ugochukwu Collins (Isialangwa North), who recently joined the Labour Party.
