A member of the United States House of Representatives, Riley Moore, has disclosed that he is preparing a report for President Donald Trump, outlining a plan for coordinated cooperation with the Nigerian government to end what he describes as the Christian genocide occurring in the country.
Moore shared this update in a post on X on Thursday, following his recent visit to Nigeria.
During his trip, the US lawmaker met with several senior government officials, including the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
He also travelled to Benue State, where he held meetings with Bishops Anagbe and Dugu, as well as the Tor Tiv.
Moore engaged with displaced Christian communities who recounted repeated attacks by Fulani militants in the Middle Belt.
One of the harrowing accounts he received came from a woman who said she had been forced to watch as militants killed her five children.
Writing on X, he said, “I have just returned from a Congressional delegation to Nigeria with the House Appropriations Committee.
“While there, we visited Benue State. We met with Bishops Anagbe and Dugu, and Tor Tiv. We also met suffering IDPs, all of whom are Christians. They are forced to live in camps that are regularly attacked by Fulani Islamic radicals.
“We heard heartbreaking testimonies from survivors of this horrific genocidal campaign carried out by the Fulani, including a woman who was made to watch as five of her children were killed.
“I am currently preparing a report for President Donald Trump, outlining a coordinated and cooperative path for working with the Nigerian Government to end the slaughter of innocent Christians in the Middle Belt and to confront the ongoing terrorist threat in the North-East.
“I have never seen anything like this. It will stay with me for the rest of my life. We will brief the President soon. More updates to come.”
