US Set To Deport 201 Nigerians, Includes People Currently Serving Prison Sentences To Lagos

The United States of America is set to deport 201 Nigerian nationals in the country and they will be dropped to Lagos, according to the envoy.The U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills Jr., made the announcement yesterday in Abuja, that individuals being deported from the U.S. will be dropped to Lagos, Nigeria. Mills Jr. further clarified that individuals who are currently serving prison sentences would be among the initial group of Nigerians scheduled for deportation.

He said, “Those to be repatriated would be dropped in Lagos. There wouldn’t be room for whether it should be in Port Harcourt or Abuja. “The first group will be convicted prisoners. Those who committed crimes and are in US prisons. Some of them are those who have clearly violated US immigration laws. They appealed but were denied yet they are still in the US. They have committed immigration crime, people who have been ordered to leave.
