Victor Osimhen was one of the stars of the show as Galatasaray cruised to a big win away from home

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored for Galatasaray as they cruised to an easy 4-0 victory over Kayserispor in their third Super Lig game of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Last week, Osimhen made his first appearance for Galatasaray since his big money transfer to the club a few weeks ago. He got 30 minutes of action, but he failed to score.

This time, against Kayserispor at the Kadir Has Stadium, coach Orkan Buruk gave the Nigerian his first start of the season.

As expected, Galatasaray dominated the fixture from the blast of the whistle. Lucas Torreira hit the upright in the 9th minute after striking a wicked shot from over 25 yards.

Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sane also had chances to score midway into the first half, but they failed to take their opportunities.

Nonetheless, Eren Elmali did the honours of breaking rhe deadlock, as he got on the end of a rebound off a shot from Sane and fired the ball into the roof of the net to make it 1-0.

Galatasaray took that lead into the break. But they quickly doubled it seconds into the second half, and it was Elmali again.

Sane sent a cross into the box for Osimhen, but Elmali sneaked in and headed the ball into the net to make it 2-0.

The Cimbom had to wait until the 86th minute to get their third goal, and it came through Osimhen.

The Super Eagles star combine nicely with Mauro Icardi and Nicolo Zaniolo in midfielder, then, he showed his pace and hunger, as he quickly burst into the box to poke in a cross from Zaniolo to make it 3-0.

Sane wrapped up the scoring in the third minute of stoppage time, as his deflected shot from outside the box confused the goalkeeper and found the net to ensure it ended 4-0.

The game eventually ended 4-0 in Galatasaray’s favour. It means that the Super Lig Champions have now won all three of their opening league games.

According to A Spor, this is the first time since the 2007/08 season that Galatasaray will win their first three Super Lig games without conceding.

Interestingly, Galatasaray’s current coach Orkan Buruk, was part of that team as a player. The team also had big players like Rigobert Song, Arda Turan, and Serkan Calik. They went on to win the Super Lig that season.

Victor Osimhen and his Galatasaray will look to build on this record moving forward. Next up for them is a game against Rizespor at Rams Park on Saturday.
