Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen could make history in his side’s UEFA Champions League clash against AS Monaco tonight, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 26-year-old has played three of Galatasaray’s five Champions League games and has scored six goals, the highest in the competition so far this season.
His presence has proven decisive as Galatasaray have won all three games he has featured in and lost both matches he missed through injury.

Osimhen could make Champions League history against AS Monaco
Prior to Galatasaray’s 3-1 win over Bodo/Glimt, the former LOSC Lille striker was tied with Burak Yilmaz, who scored in six successive European games for Galatasaray in 2012.
Following his double against the Norwegian side, Osimhen now holds Galatasaray’s European consecutive goalscoring record, stretching the streak to seven games.
Osimhen is also the Nigerian with the most goals in the UEFA Champions League, surpassing Obafemi Martins’ record in Galatasaray’s win over Liverpool two months ago.
Notable for making history everywhere he goes, the former Napoli forward could make the headlines tonight at the Stade Louis II if he scores.
The 2023 CAF Player of the Year Award winner has scored 12 goals in the last 8 matches for Galatasaray across all European competitions, and could surpass Shabani Nonda and Milan Baros, with 12 goals each in Europe.
Additionally, Osimhen is seven goals behind Hakan Sukur (13) in Galatasaray’s all-time UEFA Champions League goalscorers.
