Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has addressed growing speculation surrounding Victor Osimhen’s future, following the Nigerian striker’s high-profile loan switch to the Turkish giants, Footynaija.com reports.

Osimhen, who arrived at Galatasaray after deadline-day moves to Chelsea and Al-Ahli fell through, joined on loan from Napoli for the remainder of the 2024–25 season.

The 26-year-old forward has delivered instant impact, building on a sensational campaign that saw him net 33 goals and register 8 assists — a personal best for combined goal contributions in a single season.

Despite Galatasaray’s strong interest in making the move permanent, Napoli’s €75 million valuation presents a significant obstacle.

Speaking at an event celebrating Galatasaray’s wheelchair basketball team, which recently claimed the IWBF EuroCup 1 title, Ozbek offered a measured response when pressed on Osimhen’s future.

“85 million people in Turkiye come to me with the same question,” he said, as reported by beIN SPORTS. “We are in a race right now, the race in football is not over. Transfers are at the beginning of June.”

Ozbek stressed that the club’s current focus is squarely on ending the season strongly.

“Nobody should think about who to buy or sell. We are focused on the field. We have 5 matches ahead of us. We are working to win all 5 matches and make our fans happy.

“There is no transfer on our agenda right now. We will share our thoughts when the time comes.”

With four league games remaining, Galatasaray lead the Super Lig with 83 points — eight clear of fierce rivals Fenerbahce — and have also booked their spot in the Turkish Cup final.
