Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, has raised fresh concerns over the investigation into the death of Nigerian rapper, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known professionally as MohBad, alleging attempts to cover up the case and silence him.

In a video clip released on Wednesday (today), Fabiyi confessed to having a video recording of how the singer was murdered.

The actor appealed directly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing certain individuals and police operatives of frustrating ongoing investigations.

Fabiyi said he had earlier notified the President about a disturbing video linked to Mohbad’s death.

According to him, “In May 2025, I wrote to you that the video of how Mohbad was murdered, part of it was sent to me in an apparent attempt to collect money by the younger brother.”

He said the Presidency responded, directing the Inspector-General of Police to investigate, “harmonise and prosecute” those involved.

‘Some Suspects Were Arrested, Now They Want to Bury the Case’

Fabiyi stated that after the FCID Abuja took over the case file from Lagos and identified key suspects, some arrests were made. He added that Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi Cynthia, also reported herself to the authorities in Abuja.

However, he alleged that efforts were now underway to shield those suspected of involvement.

“They want to cover it up,” he said. “They didn’t stop at that, your excellency. They are now even asking the same suspects to write petitions against me in Lagos State on how they were arrested, that the Inspector-General of Police did not do the right thing by arresting them.”

Fabiyi further claimed that certain police formations were being pressured to question the IGP’s decisions.

“They are now saying the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, their offices in Alagbon FCID Annex and Zone 2, should query the Inspector-General of Police as to why they were arrested,” he said.

The actor alleged that the suspects, some of whom are being investigated for murder, theft, conspiracy, and criminal intimidation, were attempting to silence him.

“These six suspects… because they want to silence me, because they want to use the video against you,” he said, addressing the President.

Fabiyi also suggested that his support for the government had made him a target.
