Videos: One Killed As APC Bwari Primaries Turn Violent

One individual was reportedly killed on Wednesday following violent confrontations during the All Progressives Congress (APC) council primaries in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja.

Naijaonpoint learnt that the event occurred amidst rising tensions regarding purported irregularities in the delegate list utilised for the election.

SaharaReporters claimed to have obtained a video of the incident that depicts a body being hurriedly placed into a black vehicle.

According to the media, a voice in the background can be heard stating, “Quickly, put him inside the car.”

A source within the party also claimed that the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, was responsible for submitting a contentious list of delegates for the Bwari Area Council primary election.

The source indicated that aspirants and legitimate delegates collectively rejected the list that was allegedly compiled by the APC Local Council Chairman.

The situation reportedly intensified when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was said to have accepted the disputed list, which was allegedly forwarded to them by the APC leadership.

“INEC has allegedly been compromised by APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, who is now reportedly providing the list of delegates for the Bwari Area Council local government election. Aspirants and legitimate delegates have unanimously rejected the alleged fake list submitted through the APC Local Council Chairman,” another source said.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the APC council, in a video acquired by newsmen, accused certain members of the party of being compromised after reportedly accepting money to disrupt the primaries.

During the intense exchange, he implored them to reflect on their conscience and cease creating mischief for monetary gain.

When contacted, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, told journalists that “I am currently not in Abuja at the moment. Thank you.”

In the meantime, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, mentioned that she was out of town and would get back to journalists later.

“I will call to confirm as I am out of town at the moment, but let me confirm and get back to you,” SaharaReporters quoted the police spokesperson as saying.
