The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates.
The 2025 WASSCE for school candidates was administered over six weeks, beginning on April 24, 2025, and concluding on June 20, 2025
In a statement issued on Monday, August 4, 2025, the Council confirmed that the results are now available online for candidates who sat the examination earlier this year.
“The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform candidates who sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2025 that the result has officially been released today, Monday, August 4, 2025,” WAEC stated.
Candidates are advised to log on to the result portal at www.waecdirect.org to access their scores. Each candidate will need their examination number, WAEC result checker PIN, and serial number as printed on their e-PIN voucher.
In line with the examination council’s steps toward transitioning its examinations to Computer-Based Testing (CBT), the first phase will involve administering objective sections of exams using CBT beginning November 2025. By May/June 2026, WAEC is expected to implement full CBT, including theory and essay sections, across its school-based examinations.
The examination council in April launched new digital platforms aimed at helping students better prepare for the 2025 WASSCE. The rollout is part of the Council’s broader strategy to modernise examination preparation tools and improve candidate outcomes.
According to Dr. Amos Dangut, Head of WAEC’s Nigeria National Office, the platform also features performance analysis tools. These allow students to review trends in past results and identify key areas of weakness. WAEC explained that analyzing past performance data will help guide students toward improved outcomes in future examinations.
Students can also explore additional learning content and resources via WAEConline.org.ng, where supplementary materials for core, science, commercial, and arts subjects are available.
