Super Falcons and Galatasaray central defender, Oluwatosin Demehin, has shrugged off the potency in Zambia’s attack ahead of Nigeria’s WAFCON 2024 Quarter final clash, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 23-year-old centre-back has started every game so far in Morocco under Justin Madugu, helping the Super Falcons keep three consecutive cleansheets.

While Zambia’s attack houses threats like Barbra Banda and Racheal Kundananji, Demehin is confident that Nigeria can secure victory with teamwork and obedience to coach Madugu’s tactics.

“For the defensive performance in this competition, I think we’re playing as a team, and that has been helping us. We’re playing to what the coach demands from us, and that has been very helpful,” Demehin said in an interview with the Super Falcons show.

“What makes us solid at the back is the teamwork. I believe we are good to go. To me, the Zambian team are no threat to us because we know what brought us here.

“We have a mission, and that is for us to take the trophy to Nigeria for the 10th time. We are working towards that, so I believe Zambia can’t match that. We have our goals, we are good to go.

“The decisive factor in the quarter final will be the attack delivering early goals because I know if that can happen, it’ll help us,” the Nigerian defender concluded.
