Nollywood actor Wale Akorede, popularly known as Okunnu, has reunited with his family in Canada after spending eight years away from them.
Naijaonpoint reports that the actor landed in Canada to the warm embrace of his wife, children, and colleagues who were present at the airport to welcome him.
The reunion was filled with emotions as his loved ones hugged him after the long separation.
Okunnu shared the joyful moment on social media, expressing how fulfilled he felt being back with his family.
He revealed that though distance kept them apart for years, their bond remained strong until they were finally together again.
He wrote: “Alahamdulillah!!! God did! After 8 years apart, my family @wumiakorede @tee_flawless @realjumkie @itmoyin is finally whole again in Canada. No distance, no time, nothing keeps a family’s love apart. Canada feels more like home now that I am with my family. God bless you for welcoming me @starboytemidayo @ayekanlowa_ny”.
The actor, known for his comic roles in Yoruba movies, has never stopped celebrating his family’s achievements despite being far away.
In July, he marked his daughter Balikis Ayomide’s graduation after she earned another degree with honours.
In 2023, the same daughter had also graduated in Biotechnology with honours.
His son also graduated from Humber College in Canada last year, a milestone the proud father celebrated publicly.
