The emphatic victory serves as a vital warm-up ahead of their crucial FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying showdown against South Africa next month. Bankole Olowookere’s side wasted no time asserting their superiority, opening the scoring in the ninth minute through Chisom Nwachukwu. The forward latched onto a precise pass before expertly going past the goalkeeper and slotting home to give the Flamingos an early lead. Chidi Harmony quickly doubled the advantage three minutes later, finishing off a well-worked team move. The young forward then struck again in the 17th minute, completing her brace and putting Nigeria firmly in control with a 3-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes. With their two-legged World Cup qualifier against South Africa scheduled between March 7 and 16, the Flamingos will take confidence from their dominant performance. Four teams from Africa will secure qualification for the tournament in Morocco, joining the hosts as CAF representatives.
