Super Eagles of Nigeria have departed Fez for Marrakech ahead of their 2025 AFCON quarter-final showdown against Algeria, Soccernet.ng reports.

This puts to rest swirling speculation around team unrest, unpaid bonuses and travel uncertainty ahead of the crucial encounter.

Soccernet.ng can confirm that Victor Osimhen was very much part of the travelling party, alongside Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Ryan Alebiosu and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, as the squad boarded their flight on Thursday.

Videos shared by Soccernet show the players boarding a Royal Air Maroc flight to reinforce earlier assurances that internal issues had been resolved – particularly Osimhen, whose rumours revealed he had threatened to leave the camp for Turkey.

Nigeria’s travel comes after a dominant 4–0 victory over Mozambique in the Round of 16, which secured Eric Chelle’s side a place in the last eight and extended their perfect record at AFCON 2025.

In the days that followed, reports emerged suggesting tension in camp, including a brief on-field exchange between Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, as well as concerns over unpaid bonuses.

However, sources told Soccernet.ng that the issues were settled internally the same night, with intervention from NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko and other officials.

Despite threats of a possible training boycott, the Super Eagles trained as scheduled, with Osimhen taking full part in the session. Bonus payments are understood to be in the process of being handled via the CBN.
