Fathers of two Super Falcons stars, Ashleigh Plumptre and Omorinsola Babajide, were caught on camera sharing light-hearted moments, Soccernet.ng reports.
This comes after Nigeria’s historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) triumph, where the two players played a key role in the campaign.
The video shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user showed the two men sharing a casual and cheerful exchange after the team’s official reception in Abuja.

While no audio of the conversation was captured, the body language suggested proud dads of newly crowned African champions showing a mutual respect for each other.
Plumptre and Babajide were both instrumental in Nigeria’s victorious WAFCON 2024 campaign in Morocco. Plumptre featured prominently in defence throughout the tournament, while Babajide marked her WAFCON debut with a goal and an assist in the group stage win against Tunisia.
Both players, born and raised in the UK, chose to represent Nigeria on the international stage. This decision has shaped their careers and also deepened their connection to their Nigerian roots.

Their performances at WAFCON earned them national honours, including the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), 100,000 dollars in cash rewards, and a three-bedroom house each from the Federal Government.
The fathers, visibly proud, appeared to be soaking in the moment as they stood side by side—two supportive figures sharing in the spotlight, not for themselves, but for the daughters who brought glory to the nation.
