Soccernet.ng can exclusively report that Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa left the team’s Unity Cup camp in London to get married.

Earlier reports suggest that Musa exited the camp due to “personal reasons.” fresh details have emerged confirming that the former Leicester City forward returned to Kano to tie the knot with a new bride named Asma’u.

Musa was part of Nigeria’s squad that defeated Ghana 2-1 in the Unity Cup on Wednesday, making his return to the national team after a long absence since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The former CSKA Moscow forward featured as a substitute in the second half and impressed with his experience and leadership.

However, shortly after the match, Musa departed the camp and will now miss Nigeria’s next clash against the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica.

Photos and videos circulating on social media show Musa dancing with his new wife at “his wedding” in Kano, making it his fourth marriage. The identity of his new wife, Asma’u, has since been revealed via a video by sources close to the family.

Musa, who currently plays for Nigeria Premier Football League side Kano Pillars, has enjoyed a strong return to form this season, contributing ten goals and two assists in 23 matches for the club.

The 32-year-old remains one of Nigeria’s most capped players in the national team. While his absence for the Jamaica game will be felt, the Super Eagles will look to build on their last victory against Ghana.
