The singer said that outside of the noise, it’s good to see the good that Very Dark Man did impacting lives and people actually appreciating it. The Grammy nominee added that seeing people show support for VDM was encouraging as he called for the activist’s freedom. Also showing support for him, veteran actress, Rita Edochie had called for his freedom, as she stated that the activist is the only young man who is societally outstanding. She stated that if VDM is silenced, no one is ready to take his place in lending a voice to society. Despite his controversial lifestyle, some celebrities have fallen in love with VDM and publicly supported him. Big Brother Naija Level Up winner Phyna nominated him to run for President of the Youth Democratic Party (YDP). She stated that she would boldly and proudly stand by him, as she believes a better Nigeria will come through him. Meanwhile, Vee Iye criticized VDM’s supporters, stating that they may need a mental evaluation. She stated that it was time to hold certain people responsible as she emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in advocating for Nigerians’ rights, dismissing the idea of individual freedom fighters.
