“We are going to defeat Obaseki” – Akpabio predicts APC’s victory ahead of Edo guber

President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has predicted victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Edo State.

Speaking at a South-South Zonal Party meeting in Calabar, Akpabio said the APC will defeat the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Referring to the incumbent governor who is backing the PDP’s governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, Akpabio, declared, “We are going to defeat Obaseki.”

He expressed optimism about the APC’s prospects, adding that the party would gain prominence in the South-South zone soon.

Reflecting on his role and the political significance of the region, Akpabio noted, “God has enabled the zone to be on the table and centre of Governance in the country.”
