Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has slammed the Rivers State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections, Tonye Cole.
Naijaonpoint reports that Cole had, in a recent interview, criticised Wike over his relationship with the ruling APC while still claiming to be a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Cole said Wike should stop confusing people about his political loyalty, saying, “Is he APC or is he PDP? As far as we know today, he is PDP.”
In response, Wike, while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, said Tonye Cole is not at his level in Nigerian politics.
According to the Minister, Cole cannot sit at the same table with him to discuss politics, either in Rivers State or in Nigeria generally.
The former Governor of Rivers State, added that Cole has no character and should continue to be confused about his (Wike) political loyalty.
He said, “I saw the clips one [where] Pastor Tonye Cole said I’m confusing; he should continue to be confused.
“At my level of politics, we are not on the same level. Tonye Cole cannot talk about the politics of Rivers and Nigeria and say he’s going to sit down with me, he has no character.”
