Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has stated that he is looking forward to Club Brugge’s UEFA Champions League game against Barcelona on Wednesday, Soccernet.ng reports.
After five weeks on the sidelines, Onyedika returned to action on Saturday in Club Brugge’s 2-1 victory over Dender in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
The Super Eagles star started from the bench, replacing Romeo Vermant in the 63rd minute, and he put up a decent showing.
In his 27 minutes of action, Onyedika recorded 35 successful passes, one tackle, and one interception.
With Dender fully out of the way, Onyedika’s next task with Club Brugge is their big UEFA Champions League game against Barcelona at the Jan Breydel Stadium on Wednesday.
Although Barcelona are missing some of their best legs, with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha out, Club Brugge still enter the game as underdogs.
In fact, it will be a big shock if the former Belgian champions gain anything from the fixture.

Ahead of the fixture against Barcelona on Wednesday, Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has expressed confidence in his team’s chances of earning a result.
“I’m missing some match practice now, but that short half-hour (against Dender) has given me confidence that I’ll be ready for the match against Barcelona next Wednesday,” Onyedika said after the game against Dender.
“It’s clear to me that it won’t be an easy task again next Wednesday, but nevertheless, everyone here is looking forward to it, that’s a fact. We know what’s coming, but we can’t be afraid.”
Club Brugge have lost three of the last four meetings between them and Barcelona. But they will be looking to avoid a defeat in front of their home fans on Wednesday.
Onyedika will likely start the fixture, but he may not play the entire 90 minutes because he just returned from an injury layoff.
