The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a public disclaimer warning its customers and stakeholders to disregard unsolicited emails, text messages, WhatsApp messages, and calls requesting them to download applications or share personal information.
In a statement dated June 27, 2025, and signed by its management, the Commission noted a surge in unauthorized communications falsely linked to the CAC, targeting unsuspecting members of the public.
“The attention of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has been drawn to an avalanche of email messages, texts, WhatsApp messages and calls sent to the Commission’s customers and stakeholders requesting them to download certain applications or disclose certain personal information,” the notice read.
The Commission categorically distanced itself from such fraudulent demands and advised the public to ignore them.
“As a responsible and transparent agency whose services are offered seamlessly online via the Company Registration Portal (CRP), the CAC will always maintain high standards in line with global best practices,” the statement added.
It further clarified that all legitimate information, service updates, and notices from the CAC are published exclusively on its official website: www.cac.gov.ng.
The Commission urged anyone in doubt about any communication relating to its services to reach out via the official contact numbers provided on the website.
