We have enough resources to run Adada State – Ex Protocol Officer to Obasanjo

Amb. Ejike Eze, a retired Career Diplomat and fomer Senior Special Assistant on Protocols and Security to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, says Nsukka people have abundant human and natural resources to run Adada State if created.

Eze who hails from Enugu North Senatorial District (known as Nsukka zone) said this in Nsukka on Tuesday in a chat with newsmen.

While reacting to the recent Senate Committee on State Creation recommendation for the creation of additional 12 states which Adada State was one of them.

He said Nsukka peóple have enough manpower and natural resources to make Adada State the most productive and viable state in the country.

“Agitation for the creation of Adada State remains the oldest in the country as it started since 1971.

“Nsukka people have abundant human and natural resources to run the state and make it the most productive and viable in the country.

“Our added advantage is that, we speak the same language, have the same culture and tradition which makes us homogeneous and will help immensely in smooth running of Adada State if created,”he said.

Eze who was Senatorial Candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Enugu North Senatorial District in 2023 general elections.

Noted that the district had over 50 per cent population of Enugu State, that made the district decides who becomes the governor of the state during election.

“It is undisputable that Nsukka people have over 50 per cent population of Enugu State, this has make the area to decide who becomes the governor in the state during governorship election,”he said.

The career diplomat urged political parties in the Enugu State to always ensure that the state Chairman of their political parties comes from the district to enable them to win during general elections.

“Nobody wins governorship election in Enugu State without the consent of Nsukka people as result of her huge population and voting strength, “he said.

Eze expressed concern how Enugu State APC had not been fair to members from Enugu North Senatorial District in terms of appointments.

“In the interest of fairness, equity and justice APC in the state should remember members from the district as well as ensure that the next APC state chairman comes from Enugu North Senatorial District,”he said.

On 2027 general elections, the party Chieftain said he is still consulting whether to contest for senate position again in the district in 2027 general elections.

“I am still consulting whether to contest in 2027 general elections.

“As APC in Enugu State have endorsed Chief Uche Nnaji the 2023 governorship candidate in the state who is the
current Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology.

“I know the party is also expected to endorse senatorial candidates in the state for 2027 general elections because what is “good for goose is also good for the gender”, Eze added
