Since then, Augustine Eguavoen has been in charge of the three-time AFCON Champions, heralding them to a place in the AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco. Green, in support of the new coach, pleaded with the NFF to provide an environment that’ll allow the Malian to bring out the best in the Nigerian players. “Since the NFF has announced him, I hope they’ve also arranged the environment he will work in so that he can thrive and qualify us for the next World Cup. We have the talents, but we don’t know the mentality of the players, the discipline in the team, and the suitability of the coach to the Super Eagles,” the former NFF official said in quotes revealed by Brila. Nigeria resumes their World Cup qualifying campaign on the 19th of March when they travel to face Rwanda. They welcome Zimbabwe to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium three days later.
