Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) must play a pivotal role in stopping the ruling All Progressives Congress from wrecking Nigeria.
Naijaonpoint reports that Atiku made the remark during a meeting with the ADC state chairmen from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja.
The meeting, held at his residence, was revealed in a post on his official 𝕏 handle on Tuesday, December 2.
Atiku told the delegation, led by the Kogi State ADC Chairman, Ogga Kingsley, that their visit was to formally welcome him following his recent registration as a party member.
He stressed that the coalition must immediately get to work, insisting that the mission to rescue Nigeria could not be delayed. He urged other stakeholders who had yet to register fully with the coalition to do so without hesitation.
“No one can afford to sit on the fence,” Atiku told the gathering.
The former vice president praised the ADC leadership across the states for their dedication and alignment with his vision for a better country.
“I am indeed pleased to see that leaders of the party at the state level are thinking with the future of our country in mind,” he wrote.
Atiku further emphasised their shared resolve to build a secure and prosperous nation.
“Together, we are committed to our resolve to work towards a secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria. The APC is bent on wrecking our country, and we are ready to stop them from doing so,” the former Vice President concluded.
