Edo State Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, has said he would build the future he promised Edo people during the governorship election campaign.

Naijaonpoint reported that Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, defeated the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), Asue Ighodalo and Olumide Akpata, respectively, in last Saturday’s governorship election.

On his X handle, on Wednesday, the Governor-elect said he would fulfill the campaign promises he made to Edo people.

Okpebholo promised not to take the trust and support he got from the voters for granted, stating “The real work begins“.

The statement on his handle read: “Victory is Ours!!! Over the weekend, we made history together. I am profoundly grateful to everyone who believed in our vision and stood by us throughout this journey. This victory belongs to all of us—the people of Edo State who came out, voted, and made their voices heard.”

He added, “To the incredible leaders, supporters, and those who rallied behind us from across the nation, thank you for your unwavering support. Now, the real work begins. Together, we will build the future we’ve promised. Your trust and support will never be taken for granted. Edo State, we won’t let you down!”
