Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has revealed why the Nigeria Professional Football League leaders have been utterly dominant at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne this season, Footynaija.com reports.

Ogunmodede’s Remo currently boast a 51-game unbeaten home record in the NPFL. In the current campaign, they have won 15 of their 16 home league fixtures, recording just one draw against their closest rivals Rivers United back in November 2024.

This incredible home form has played a significant role in their impressive league standing, with the Sky Blues Stars currently leading the way in Nigeria’s top-flight division after 30 rounds of matches so far.

Remo Stars’ most recent home triumph came yesterday Thursday, March 27, against struggling NPFL heavyweights Eyimba FC. Goals from Olamilekan Adedayo and Samson Olasupo helped Ogunmodede’s men secure a 2-0 victory over the two-time CAF Champions League winners in Ikenne.

Speaking after the match, the Remo Stars boss opened up on the reason behind his team’s incredible home form, revealing that the desire to keep their fans happy is what spurs the Sky Blue Stars’ resilience at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

“We don’t want to be beaten. We can’t disappoint our fans,” Ogunmodede said in quotes revealed by Premium Times via allAfrica.

“They’re here, they paid money, they risked their lives to be here. And then go back home sad? That’s not going to happen. We won’t allow that.”

Remo on the brink of history

Sky Blue Stars innit

Remo Stars occupy the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League table with 60 points from 30 games. Their closest rivals Rivers United have 52 points despite playing one more game.

As the current campaign nears its end, the Sky Blue Stars are on the brink of making history, as winning the league this season would mark their first-ever triumph since their founding in 2010.
