‎Stock market investors traded a total of 3.903 billion shares worth N102.221 billion in 114,484 transactions on the floor of the Exchange this week.

‎Stock market investors traded a total of 3.903 billion shares worth N102.221 billion in 114,484 transactions on the floor of the Exchange this week.

‎This is in contrast to a total of 3.566 billion

‎shares valued at N115,403 billion that exchanged hands last week in 99,960 deals.

‎Consequently, the value of transactions traded by investors on the Exchange dropped by 12.9 per cent.

‎The Financial Services Industry led the activity chart with 2.030 billion shares valued at N41.934 billion traded in 42,959 transactions.

‎This contributed 52.02 per cent and 41.02 per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.

‎The Services Industry followed with 396.590 million shares worth N4.596 billion in 8,105 transactions.

‎The third place was the Agriculture Industry, with a turnover of 385.704 million shares worth N14.469 billion in 10,515 deals.

‎Trading in the top three equities namely Fidelity Bank Plc, Access Holdings Plc and Zenith Bank Plc accounted for 864.681 million shares worth N25.955 billion in 15,136 transactions.

‎This contributed 22.16 per cent and 25.39 per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.

‎The NGX All-Share Index and Market Capitalisation appreciated by 1.57 per cent and 1.92 per cent to close the week at 119,995.76 and N 75.962 trillion respectively.

‎Similarly, all other indices finished higher with the exception of NGX Oil and Gas Index, which depreciated by 2.23 per cent.

‎Seventy-eight equities appreciated in price during the week, higher than 55 equities in the previous week.

‎Twenty-seven equities depreciated in price, lower than 42 in the previous week, while 43 equities remained unchanged, lower than 51 recorded in the previous week.

‎Multiverse Mining, Associated Bus Company, Oando, BUA Foods and DAAR Communications were the top five decliners for the week and they dropped in 9.33 per cent, 9.26 per cent, 7.38 per cent, 6.46 per cent and 6.15 per cent respectively.

‎The top five gainers for the week are: Neimeth International Pharmaceutical, Ellah Lakes, International Breweries, CWG Plc and Champion Breweries as they gained N2.24, N1.67, N2.90, N2.30 and N1.80 respectively.

‎They grew in 60.54 per cent, 31.33 per cent, 26.36 per cent, 25 per cent and 21.95 per cent respectively. (NAN)
