Nigerian singer, Akinmayokun Awodumila, better known as May D, has claimed he was once bigger than Davido and Wizkid.

Naijaonpoint reports that the singer made this known while featuring in a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast.

According to May D, Wizkid, Davido, and himself were the three biggest artistes in Nigeria years ago.

He said: “Then it was Wizkid, David, and I. I was even like bigger. Wetin be ‘Holla at Your Boy’ compared to ‘Soundtrack?’”

Recall that May D rose to fame after signing with Square Records in 2011.

In August 2012, it was officially announced that May D was no longer on the label.

In other news, Nigerian singer, Blackface, has stated that none of those he accused of stealing his intellectual property have ever denied committing the crime.

He insisted that the notion that he accuses his colleagues of stealing his intellectual property for fun was flawed, adding that they use his songs because they love his vibe.

The entertainer, however, argued that they were doing it wrong by not crediting him.

Speaking in a recent interview with TVC, Blackface said, “People jack my vibes. They love them. It’s not their fault. If I was not me, I would be jacking me too.

All my songs are being jacked because when you release a song it becomes a published work. The songs are all registered. There’s no song that’s released that’s not registered. Once it is in the public domain, it’s a published work. Was it published before your work.”
