Victor Osimhen opened his scoring account for Galatasaray as the Turkish champions swept aside Kayserispor 4-0 on Sunday to set a new club milestone, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian striker, making his first start since joining in a record deal, struck in the 86th minute after linking up with Mauro Icardi and Nicolo Zaniolo, before darting into the box to finish off a low cross.
Earlier, full-back Eren Elmali had broken the deadlock midway through the first half, converting from close range after Leroy Sane’s effort was parried. Elmali doubled the advantage just after the restart, stealing in front of Osimhen to head home Sane’s delivery.
Kayserispor rarely troubled Galatasaray’s defence, with Lucas Torreira also rattling the frame of the goal in the opening stages. Sane completed the rout in stoppage time when his shot from distance deflected past goalkeeper Bilal Bayazit.

The result means Galatasaray have opened their Super Lig campaign with three straight wins, scoring ten goals and yet to concede.
According to Turkish outlet A Spor, this is the first time since the 2007/08 season that the Istanbul giants have won their opening three matches without letting in a goal.
Head coach Orkan Buruk was a player during that campaign, when Galatasaray eventually claimed the league title.
Osimhen’s contribution has helped Galatasaray equal that achievement and set a new defensive record to begin the season.
The Nigerian international smashed in 37 goals and added eight assists in all competitions to power Galatasaray to a league and cup double last season while on loan from Napoli.
