“What will be your job if people stop going to church in the next two years” – Rita Edochie questions pastors

Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has thrown a question at pastors.

In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, she questioned what would be their job when people stopped going to church in the next two years. The daughter-in-law of Pete Edochie explained the reason for asking such questions as she noted how kingdoms are divided on their own both in Christianity and traditional religion.

She noted how things are fast changing and people’s belief and approach to life is not left out. Rita further noted how religion and people’s relationship with their God is taking a different dimension, be it Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hindustan, Traditional religion, or atheism.

“Pastors, if people stop going to church in the next two years what will be your job?

If we, the congregation in your church, stop attending, what happens?

I asked because kingdoms are being divided on their own, both in Christianity and traditional religion.

Things are fast changing, and people’s belief and approach to life is not left out. Today, religion and people’s relationship with their God is taking a different dimension, be it Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hindustan, Traditional religion, or atheism. The question on every lips today is if these different beliefs fade away in the future like it’s most likely to given people’s approach to life today.
What will the practitioners do?
There are some men of God who have no other means of sustaining themselves. They will be badly affected. Though in some countries, these men of God see cultivation in the Lord’s vineyard as a sacred call. It doesn’t stop them from looking for other means of livelihood. Others should learn from these.

Similarly, IK Ogbonna had cried out over the alarming rate at which Nigerian pastors are using fake miracles to deceive people. Expressing heartbreak over it, he noted how such behavior stains the true essence of Christianity, turning faith into a spectacle for selfish gain. Calling on the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, he told the body to step up, regulate, and hold the actors pretending to be pastors accountable.

Last year, when her nephew Yul Edochie and his second wife, Judy Austin had stormed Prophet Odumeje’s church, Rita expressed disappointment in the clergyman for allowing them on his altar, which she stated was supposed to be pure and clean.
