Leeds United announced the signing of Super Eagles and Remo Stars defender Leonard Ngenge, three days ago, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 18-year-old played for the Super Eagles B team at the CHAN 2024 before joining Remo Stars. Six months later, Ngenge has made a big leap to Leeds U-21 side, and their head coach, Daniel Farke, has revealed how soon the Peackocks fans will get to see their new man in action.
Typically a centre-back, Ngenge can feature as a left-back, and will be looking to break into the first team over the course of his time in England.

Leeds: Daniel Farke drops hint for Ngenge’s first team appearance
Leeds United are 16th in the EPL, and have conceded 37 goals from 22 games, the 5th-highest in the league, and the fans are looking forward to seeing Ngenge in action to help the porous defence.
However, Farke has called for patience, revealing Ngenge has to prove himself at the youth level before he gets a debut appearance in the first team.
“Everyone who signs a contract for us, for Leeds United, also has the chance to be involved”, the German tactician said in his press conference.
“That is up to the performances on the youth level and to impress in the games there, to impress in the training.
“And if you get the chance to get involved in the team training, then you have got a chance, but this is also a signing for our Under-21s.
“So, there is no intention that we are greedy to involve him as soon as possible; it is more like a natural progression.
“He[Ngenge] will be with our youth, we will give him time to adapt, and it is not the plan to rush anything with him,” the former Borussia Mönchengladbach coach concluded.
Ngenge could make his debut for the Leeds U-21 team on Sunday when they travel to Merseyside to play against Liverpool’s U-21 team at Liverpool’s Academy Ground.
