Natasha Osawaru, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, has responded to allegations regarding the beads her fiancé, singer 2Baba, wears on his neck and wrist, claiming they have been spiritually fortified.

In February, it was reported that 2Baba’s mother, Rose Idibia, accused Ms. Osawaru of placing these beads on her son as a means to exert a spiritual hold over him. She pleaded with Ms. Osawaru to release her son, alleging that he was under her spell. This plea came amid her son’s unexpected engagement to Natasha, following his separation from Annie, his wife of 12 years.

In an interview with journalist Stella Korkus, Ms. Osawaru, who is also a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), clarified the significance of the beads worn by the music star.

She explained, “On my last birthday, my mum gave me three beautiful beads called ‘EZENEKA,’ which means ‘river that never runs dry.’ The pearl on his neck was given to me by my grandad, who was a knight to the Queen of England, and she gifted it to him while she was alive.

“So, they are just traditional beads. He liked them and decided to wear them; there is nothing sinister about them. They do not contain any juju or have any diabolical purpose. I did not place them on him; he saw them, liked them, and wore them. If you pay attention, you will see that he has always liked beads and has worn various ones before now.”
