A Facebook user, Mmiri Mara Ugo Adaeze Nwa Nsukka, has called for the abolition of DNA testing, insisting that it is not part of cultural practices.
She stated that all children born by a woman in her husband’s house automatically belong to the man, regardless of circumstances surrounding their birth.
Mmiri Mara Ugo further noted that in Igbo land, men are free to marry as many wives as they wish, while women are equally free to bear children for their husbands without interference.
Her comments have since stirred conversations online, drawing mixed reactions from social media users.
