Temi Otedola, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has opened up on why she changed her name following her marriage to singer, Mr Eazi.
In an interview with BBC on Wednesday, she said the decision was hers alone as she noted how she is now a married woman, and the obvious thing for her is to take her husband’s name.
She added that keeping her relationship private helps her control her narrative as she noted how moving in silence allows her to build the story she wants and share it when and how she is ready.
“I’m now a married woman, the obvious thing for me is to take my husband’s name. But it’s my personal choice. I also respect a woman’s ability to choose.
Moving in silence allows you to build the story you want and share it when and how you’re ready”.
Kemi Filani reported in August that Mr Eazi and Temi, tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony in Hallgrimskirkja Church, Reykjavik, Iceland.
In an exclusive article with Vogue Magazine, last week, the couple released their wedding pictures, revealing that they tied the knot in 3 different countries, Monaco, Dubai and Iceland. The couple had their Court wedding on May 9th in Monaco, their traditional wedding on July 5th in Dubai, and their white wedding in Iceland.
Following their high-profile wedding, the daughter of Femi Otedola had first updated her social media bio to reflect her marital status. Temi dropped her father’s name and took up her husband’s name, Ajibade.
In another post, she had revealed why they chose Iceland for their white wedding. She revealed that since she and Eazi took their first trip in 2021, they fell in love with the country’s people, nature and energy.
Sharing unseen footage from her white wedding, she said they made their vow before God, their family, and friends.
