Skitmaker and singer Lawal Nasiru, commonly known as Nasboi, has shared that he identifies as both a Muslim and a Christian, attributing this unique faith identity to his diverse family background.
Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Nasboi explained that his father is a Yoruba Muslim and his mother is a Christian from Warri. This blend of cultures has contributed to his open-mindedness towards religion.
He expressed on X (formerly known as Twitter):
“My dad is Yoruba, my mom is from Warri. My dad is a Muslim, my mom is a Christian. I was born and raised in Port Harcourt, and I studied at the University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom. This is why I can never relate to tribalism or any religious agendas.”
When a fan inquired about his religious affiliation, Nasboi humorously coined the term “Christmus,” combining elements of both Christianity and Islam.
His revelation has generated mixed reactions online, with some praising his inclusive perspective, while others find his viewpoint confusing.
