A suspect, Aina Ayotomide, has been apprehended for allegedly stealing a motorbike in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital.
Ayotomide, who was nabbed by officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, allegedly confessed to stealing the bike to raise money after losing cash his sister entrusted to him on a betting platform.
The NSCDC spokesperson in the state, Daniel Aidamenbor, in a statement on Wednesday, said the 28-year-old suspect was nabbed at the Agbogbo area of Akure, the state capital, while attempting to dispose of a wine-coloured Bajaj motorcycle.
Aidamenbor said the suspect allegedly admitted to stealing the motorbike at the Nova School area, Ado Ekiti, before riding it down to Akure for sale.

According to him, Ayotomide allegedly told the investigators that he had lost N130,000 belonging to his sister on Sportybet and was desperate to recover the money.
“The owner of the motorcycle, Amire Tope, has since identified the motorbike as his after being alerted by the command,” he said.
In another case, the NSCDC also paraded one Tope Andrew of Olorunsogo, Yaba, Ondo, arrested on August 24 for allegedly breaking into a house at Adebayo compound, GRA, Ondo town, where he reportedly carted away solar lights, panels, and iron scraps.
Aidamenbor said Andrew, 30, allegedly confessed to the crime and planned to sell off the stolen items.
Both suspects, he added, are in custody and would be charged in court at the end of the investigation.NAN
