Nigerian senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko, has revealed why he wants his actress wife, Regina Daniels, to undergo rehabilitation.
Speaking in an interview with NAN, he insists that the actress must go to rehab to address drug abuse and safeguard her well-being. He said there was a series of alarming toxicology reports, including high levels of harmful substances in Daniel’s system.
According to him, Regina’s personality has changed in recent months as she has been exhibiting violent and destructive behaviour alongside recurring health crises.
The politician added that he wants her alive and healthy, not just for himself, but for their children, as he noted that they have two young kids and they can’t fight for themselves.
“I want her alive and healthy, not just for me but for our children.
We have two young kids together, and they cannot fight for themselves, so I’m going to fight for them by safeguarding their mother.
Many people have died of drug overdose, and if anything happens to her now, what will I tell her children tomorrow?”.
I have lived with this problem for eight months, and on three occasions, I had to carry her to Nizamiye Hospital unconscious from a drug overdose — you can go verify it.”
Nwoko said he wanted Daniels to raise their children in “a sane and healthy environment”, adding that rehabilitation would prevent her from accessing drugs while she completes her treatment.
The senator also presented toxicology results of the actress, insisting that anyone discouraging her from seeking proper medical care was “her real enemy and that of her children”.
He said the reports showed several substances with toxic levels, dismissing recent statements by Regina’s mother and siblings on the drug abuse allegations as “baseless distractions”.
“That is why I am saying that everybody has to calm down and join hands to save her,” he said.
“But she and her mother are living in denial. If they really want to prove me wrong, let them arrange for her to visit any toxicologist of their choice — I will pay.”
Nwoko also alleged that Daniels’ close friends and siblings, particularly her brother Sammy, influenced her and enabled her access to drugs.
“Her close relations and friends that I trusted around her are the ones exploiting her resources to supply her with drugs, leaving her addicted”.
“Imagine the pain of a husband trying to help his wife recover from an addiction, only to have the process sabotaged by her siblings and friends. Each time progress was made, they would undo it by smuggling in the same drugs she was fighting to give up.”
