Abubakar Jimoh, a former director of public affairs for the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has called on Nigerians to forgive the late former president Muhammadu Buhari.

Jimoh alleged that the members of late Buhari’s inner circle, popularly referred to as the cabals, were responsible for the many woes faced by Nigerians during last administration.

In a statement issued on Monday, the former NAFDAC director said the cabals in Buhari’s administration sabotaged his government.

He also said that the late former presisent assumed office with genuine intention for Nigeria and her people but was surrounded by powerful individuals with their personal motives.

He also stated that the late President Buhari was let down by those close to him including his aides and prominent cabinet members.

“Late President Buhari had the best of plans and intentions to rescue Nigeria from maladministration, economic woes, poverty, and insecurity.

“Unfortunately, some members of his kitchen cabinet who were entrusted with significant responsibilities betrayed that trust and derailed his lofty vision for the country.

“I totally disagree with anyone who claims there were no cabals during Buhari’s administration,” Jimoh said.

He further noted that every government in power have individuals who play the roles of cabal.

Jimoh said the cabals, usually influential individuals overshadow the president’s vision and sabotage it from within.

“This is why I am asking Nigerians to forgive Buhari. Let us rather blame the cabals who derailed his administration. This is a vital lesson for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure his own kitchen cabinet does not sabotage his Renewed Hope agenda,” Jimoh added.
