Why we arrested crypto billionaire Blord – Police
THE Nigeria Police Force operatives have arrested a crypto billionaire, Linus Williams, also known as BLord, in Abuja on Tuesday.
The arrest was made following allegations of cryptocurrency fraud, terrorism funding, and aiding internet fraud against his companies.
Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi stated that the arrest was due to complaints filed against BLord’s companies. Adejobi assured the press that the police will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
Adejobi confirmed that BLord is currently in custody and that the FCID (NPF-NCCC) is investigating complaints against Blord Group, Blord Real Estate Ltd, Blord Jetpaye Limited, and Billpoint Technology.
The alleged offences include cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism funding, and non-compliance with regulatory frameworks.
Adejobi emphasized the police’s commitment to ensuring a safe and secure cyberspace and stated that they will carry out a diligent investigation to achieve this goal.
In addition, he denied that BLord’s arrest was based on a petition from Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
