Wicked: For Good Clip Shows Elphaba & Glinda In Wonderful Musical Number

elphaba and glinda in wicked for good

Wicked: For Good has released an official clip from the upcoming movie, focusing on a partially new storyline. Arriving in theaters on November 21, Wicked: For Good will bring Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba and Ariana Grande’s Glinda back to the big screen, showing them divided by the Ozian public’s perception of them as the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch, respectively.

The first clip released from the second Wicked movie shows Elphaba and Glinda dancing during the song “Wonderful,” alongside The Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum). Along with some new choreography, Elphaba and Glinda reprise parts of their iconic Ozdust Ballroom dance, the scene from the first movie where they reconcile and become friends.

The excerpt includes Glinda and The Wizard singing to Elphaba,You will be wonderful.” They are back in The Wizard’s throne room, where the two witches first met him in the previous installment. As Wicked: For Good will depict Elphaba being on the run after being labeled as the Wicked Witch, the other two are suggesting that she allow them to remake her public image.

Check out the clip below:

Notably, “Wonderful” is a new song for Glinda. In the second act of Wicked the Broadway musical, Elphaba returns to the Emerald City to free the flying monkeys, but is caught by The Wizard. However, he defends his actions and asks once again that she become his ally. He says that she, too, could be “wonderful” if they presented her as a redeemed villain.

However, the synopsis released with Wicked: For Good‘s final trailer confirmed that Glinda is now a part of an extended version of this storyline, trying to facilitate a truce between Elphaba and The Wizard. Hence, Glinda is added to the “Wonderful” number because she wants Elphaba back in her life and not constantly in danger by being a fugitive.

Director Jon M. Chu has spoken about how adding Glinda to this scene strengthened the argument for Elphaba actually considering The Wizard’s offer. However, while this is a reworked version of the number from the Broadway production, Elphaba and Glinda will both have entirely original songs in Wicked: For Good that also elaborate upon their motives.

Elphaba’s “No Place Like Home” and Glinda’s “The Girl in the Bubble” are sure to be hits as well as 2026 Best Original Song nominees, but “Wonderful” looks like a promising change from Broadway. Just this clip shows how it could be a very emotional moment in Wicked: For Good, with inside jokes between the two friends like the dance coming back around, raising the stakes for everyone.
