Wike approves N70,000 minimum wage for FCTA staff

THE Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate implementation of a new national minimum wage of N70,000 for staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

In a statement released yesterday and signed by Grace Adayilo, the Acting Head of Civil Service for the FCT, it was noted that this approval aims to alleviate the challenges faced by FCTA employees.

Adayilo also announced that the minister has authorized the payment of three months’ arrears for all staff, starting from November 2024.

The statement emphasized that this initiative reflects the minister’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of the workforce.

According to the Head of Service, this move will further motivate the staff to support the minister in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Adayilo expressed gratitude to the minister for consistently providing prompt approvals for staff allowances and claims.
