The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025APCS).
Naijaonpoint reports that Wike, who departed Abuja on Sunday, October 26, 2025, landed in Dubai around 4 a.m. on Monday.
His arrival was confirmed in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
At the airport, the FCT Minister was received by Nigeria’s Consul General in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside senior officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) who had arrived ahead of him.
Among them were the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Richard Yunana Dauda; the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Benedict Daudu; the Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima; the Director of Engineering Services, Chuks Udeh; and the Director of Protocol, Sani Daura.
According to the organisers, Wike is scheduled to lead a discussion panel on Tuesday, where he will speak on developments in the FCT and engage with mayors from other global cities.
The session will highlight Abuja’s urban development efforts and provide opportunities for international collaboration in infrastructure, governance, and investment.
The 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit, initiated by the Brisbane City Council in Australia, is designed to foster long-term trade and investment connections among cities and businesses across the Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and other regions.
Organisers described the forum as one of the world’s most inclusive gatherings of city leaders, mayors, business executives, and young professionals, aimed at strengthening cooperation and addressing urban challenges.
