The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the appointment of Town Planner Mukhtar Usman Galadima as Senior Special Assistant on Development Control and Planning.
Naijaonpoint reports that Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, announced the appointment in a statement issued on Wednesday, noting that it takes immediate effect.
Olayinka described Galadima as “a seasoned Town Planner with over 30 years of experience in the FCTA Department of Development Control.”
He added that the new appointee brings substantial technical expertise to the minister’s team.
Galadima served in various capacities within the Federal Capital Territory Administration before becoming Director of the Department of Development Control in 2016. He retired from the civil service in November 2025.
Over the years, he served on several key ministerial committees, including the Abuja Masterplan Restoration Task Team, the Committee on Review of Revoked Titles, and the Change of Land Use Committee.
Meanwhile, the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olabode George, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government of attempting to destroy the PDP and undermine Nigeria’s democracy.
Speaking on the state of the nation on Tuesday, George urged President Bola Tinubu to immediately call the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, to order and instruct him to desist from interfering in the PDP’s internal affairs.
In his address, titled ‘Dear Mr President, our nation is wobbling politically,’ George claimed the APC government is preoccupied with political positioning ahead of the 2027 elections, even at the expense of national security and institutional integrity.
He criticised the government’s slow response to the escalating nationwide insecurity, including abductions and killings across several states.
