WATCH THE VIDEO HERE A video showing the moment the newly elected Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, removed the name of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, from the administrative block of the council has surfaced on social media.
NaijaOnPoint.com.ng (NOP) had reported that the new chairman, Chijoke Ihunwo and 22 other LGA chairpersons were elected following their victories in the recent Local Government Council elections held on Saturday. The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) last week Saturday declared the APP as the dominant party, after the party secured victories in 22 local government areas, while the Action Alliance claimed one chairmanship seat.
However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) opposed the conduct of the poll. In a video shared on social media, Ihunwo disclosed that Wike’s name, boldly engraved on the administrative building of the council secretariat, has now been replaced with a former politician and activist in the state, the late Obi Wali.
The LG chairman also shared a video of when Wike’s name was removed from the block and replaced with Wali. Sharing the video of the signage replacement on X, Ihunwo wrote: “We have changed Wike’s name in the admin block of Obio/Akpor Council, and replaced with the name of SENATOR DR. OBI WALI.”
