Wike Pushes Cross Party Alliance In Rivers Ahead Of 2027 Election

Nyesom Wike 1

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has stated that Rivers State politics has moved beyond allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike, while speaking on Sunday during a “thank‑you” tour of Ahoada West Local Government Area, stated that Rivers had evolved into what he described as the “Renewed Hope Family.”

He highlighted Rivers State’s exceptional political unity, adding that he remains committed to rallying support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Wike, this cross‑party cooperation, which he likened to a “rainbow coalition”, sets Rivers apart from other states and demonstrates its unique capacity for inclusiveness and shared purpose.

He urged other states to adopt a similar broad‑based unity as the nation prepares for the 2027 elections.

Wike stressed that the state’s political strength lies not in party labels, but in the collective determination of its people.

He described Rivers as a model of organic unity where political focus is driven by common goals rather than partisan interests.

The minister expressed confidence that this spirit of cooperation will continue and reiterated his firm support for President Tinubu’s reelection bid, noting the state’s overwhelming backing for the president even when others doubted his chances.
