“Wike Sacks FCT-IRS Acting Chairman” — Most Senior Official Takes Over Revenue Agency Immediately

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Friday sacked the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr. Michael Ango.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.

According to the statement, the most senior official of the FCT-IRS has been directed to immediately assume leadership of the agency.

Reasons for Ango’s removal were not provided as of the time of filing this report.

“The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has sacked the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service, Mr Michael Ango,” Olayinka stated.

He added that “the most senior official of the FCT-IRS has been directed to take over the running of the revenue agency with immediate effect.”

The statement reiterated that the decision takes effect immediately.
