The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has sacked Michael Ango from his role as Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service.
Naijaonpoint reports that the decision was announced through a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, on Friday.
Following the dismissal, the most senior official of the FCT-IRS has been instructed to assume leadership of the agency immediately and manage its daily operations.
This development comes a few days after Woke approved the appointment of Town Planner Mukhtar Usman Galadima as Senior Special Assistant on Development Control and Planning.
Naijaonpoint reports that Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, announced the appointment in a statement issued on Wednesday, noting that it takes immediate effect.
Olayinka described Galadima as “a seasoned Town Planner with over 30 years of experience in the FCTA Department of Development Control.”
He added that the new appointee brings substantial technical expertise to the minister’s team.
Galadima served in various capacities within the Federal Capital Territory Administration before becoming Director of the Department of Development Control in 2016. He retired from the civil service in November 2025.
Over the years, he served on several key ministerial committees, including the Abuja Masterplan Restoration Task Team, the Committee on Review of Revoked Titles, and the Change of Land Use Committee.
