“Wike speaks without decorum, has no respect for elders” – Former Senate President

Former Senate President and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Adolphus Wabara, has criticized Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for his disparaging comments.

Wike, in a recent live television interview, had stated that if Wabara were his father, he would have disowned him.

He accused the former Senate President of being unworthy of his position and referred to the corruption allegations against Wabara during his tenure.

Reacting to Wike’s comments, Senator Wabara stated that, as a statesman and former Number Three Citizen of Nigeria, he would not stoop to trading words with the FCT Minister.

“I expect someone of his calibre to exercise restraint and respect the position he holds as a Minister of the Federal Republic and a former Governor. It is disgraceful for a supposed man of honour to speak without decorum,” Wabara said.

He added, “Nigerians know those who are corrupt. I, Adolphus Wabara, can proudly say that I am not corrupt.”

Wabara further urged Wike to mind his words and avoid “spewing gibberish like a broken water pipe,” adding that respect for elders and facts should guide public discourse.
