Wike’s PDP Membership Comes With Some Disadvantage, He’ll Soon Be Shown The Way Out – Deputy National Publicity Secretary

Nyesom Wike

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ibrahim Abdullahi, has stated that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, remains a member of the party.

He, however, added that Wike’s PDP membership comes with its own disadvantages to the party, as the Minister is seen as another Albatross to the party.

The official also added that Wike and all others who have become a hindrance to the PDP’s progress are free to defect from the party. He added that the PDP would also be better off without them.

“The last time I checked, he (Wike) is still a member of the PDP, he hasn’t come out to denounce his membership and even if it’s coming with some disadvantage, like many have observed. Alot of persons will say he is also another Albatross to PDP,” Abdullahi said during an interview with Arise News.

Asked if the PDP would be better off without Wike, Abdullahi said it is better for the former Rivers State Governor to leave, adding that the PDP can not be held ransom by any single individual.

He added that the PDP has received many petitions against Wike, accusing him of anti-party activities, and once the disciplinary committee recommends his dismissal, the party would show him the way out.

“Probably because to be honest with you, those who stand against the chances of the PDP or have been doing things that do not promote the interest of the PDP are not necessarily within the PDP and as a party, anyone who will constitute clog on its will of progress, it is better out of the PDP so that PDP will get itself together and be able to bring back that democratic hope for Nigerians yet again.

“So certainly if Nyesom Wike is not going to be to the advantage of the PDP, which many argue, then he can also bid PDP farewell so that he stands well wherever he is and do his bid, but certainly, the PDP does not have that one person who has the single capacity to put PDP to shame. Whatever they must have done, we previously had a committee in place, we are still reviewing to deal with those dissenting voices who have taken another decision and have done things that would amount to anti-party, and Wike is said to be one of them from the number of petitions we have received. Once the committee comes up with its recommendation in that light, we’ll fire them all,” Abdullahi said.
