Super Joe Aribo’s could be on his way out of Southampton this summer following the club’s relegation to the English Championship, Soccernet.ng reports.

Aribo was expected to do big things when he left Rangers for Southampton three summers ago.

The Nigerian midfielder had earned a big reputation at the Ibrox after helping them win the Scottish Premiership and helping them reach the final of the Europa League, where he scored.

But since moving to the St. Mary’s, Aribo has failed to make a mark. It is no fault of his though, as the Saints has toiled and labored badly since Aribo joined, aside from two seasons ago, when they played in the Championship.

Southampton just got relegated from the Premier League - for the second time in three years. Following their relegation, some players are expected to exit the club.

Aribo also has one year left on his contract, so Southampton have to sell him to also raise funds to balance their books.

Now, according to Saints Extra, Southampton are desperate to sell Aribo. The former Charlton man is valued at €6 million on Transfermarkt, but the Saints are willing to let him leave for a lower fee.

This would be a comfortable price for Rangers or interested clubs from Turkey. In the coming days, a bid should come in for him.
